Privacy Policy

• We collect account info, the bakery data you enter, waitlist emails, and basic product analytics.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your personal information with other companies for their advertising or marketing.
• We use a small set of service providers (hosting, email, analytics, optional Google sign-in) only to run OvenBooks.
• The main exception for payment data is Stripe, which processes subscriptions so we can bill you.

OvenBooks is a costing and COGS tool for cottage, home, and small bakeries. The service is provided by Salaryman Inc.

Depending on how you use OvenBooks, we may collect:

• Account and sign-in: name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and session information. If you choose Google Sign-In, we receive basic profile details Google provides for authentication (such as name, email, and profile image).
• Session technical data: things like IP address and browser user agent, used for security and session management.
• Bakery and product data: information you enter to use the product: recipes, ingredients, purchases, batches, inventory, labor rates, margin settings, exports, and similar business records.
• Waitlist: email address and optional name when you join the waitlist. If you used a free calculator, we may include a copy of those numbers in your confirmation email.
• Analytics and diagnostics: how people use the site and app (pages viewed, feature usage, referral/UTM campaign parameters, device and browser basics, and error reports). For some waitlist events we record only the domain of an email address (for example, gmail.com), not the full address.
• Billing: subscription status and related account flags on our side. Payment card numbers and checkout details are handled by Lemon Squeezy; we do not store full card numbers on OvenBooks servers.
• Cookies and similar storage: to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as theme), and support analytics as described below.

We use personal information to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure OvenBooks
• Create and manage accounts, sessions, and bakery workspaces
• Send waitlist, product, and transactional messages you have reason to expect (and marketing only where you have joined a list or otherwise opted in)
• Understand product usage and fix bugs (privacy-conscious analytics and error tracking)
• Process subscriptions, prevent fraud, and handle billing
• Respond to support and privacy requests, and comply with law

We do not use your bakery recipes, costs, or inventory data to train public AI models or sell to third parties.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with other companies so they can advertise or market to you. We do not rent or trade email lists.

We do share information with service providers that process data only to run OvenBooks for us, under their terms and our instructions:

Billing. When you subscribe, payment and checkout information is processed by Stripe. That is the primary case where personal and payment data is shared with a company outside our core infrastructure so we can charge for the product. Stripe’s own privacy policy also applies to data they process as merchant/payment provider.

We may also disclose information if we must:

• Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• Protect the rights, safety, or security of OvenBooks, our users, or the public
• Complete a business transfer (for example, merger or acquisition), in which case we would expect the successor to honor this policy or give notice of changes

We use cookies and local browser storage to:

• Keep you signed in (session/auth cookies)
• Remember preferences such as light/dark theme
• Support analytics (PostHog may use cookies or local storage)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may prevent sign-in or break parts of the product.

We use PostHog to understand how OvenBooks is used and to catch errors. That can include page views, button clicks, campaign parameters (UTMs), and technical diagnostics. We configure analytics in a product-focused way, not to sell data to advertisers.

PostHog processes this data as our service provider. Their practices are described in PostHog’s own privacy documentation.

If you join the waitlist or receive product email from us, we use Resend to store contacts and send messages. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails or our unsubscribe page when a valid link is provided. Transactional messages (for example, account or billing notices) may still be sent when needed to operate your account.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment details, billing name/email, and related transaction data. We receive information needed to provision your subscription (such as plan status), not your full card number.

For payment-specific questions or receipts, Stripe’s checkout and customer portal (when available) may be the right place; for account access on OvenBooks, contact us at support@ovenbooks.com.

If you sign in with Google, Google authenticates you and shares limited account information with us so we can create or link your OvenBooks account. Google’s use of your data is governed by Google’s privacy policy. You can disconnect Google access through your Google account settings; you may also contact us to delete your OvenBooks account.

Depending on where you live (including under California and similar U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
• Access a copy of personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate account information
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Opt out of “sale” or certain “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you still want to make a formal opt-out or other rights request, email support@ovenbooks.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

You can update many account details when signed in. To request deletion or a full export of your data, email us. Self-serve deletion may expand over time; until then, we handle requests manually and aim to respond within a reasonable period (typically within 45 days where required by law).

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After you delete your account or request deletion, we remove or de-identify personal data within a reasonable time, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution reasons (for example, limited billing records). Backups and logs may persist for a short additional period before they cycle out.

Waitlist contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or we wind down that list.

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a small SaaS product: HTTPS in transit, password hashing via our auth provider, and server-side isolation so customers only access their own bakery data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.

OvenBooks is built for business operators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@ovenbooks.com and we will delete it.

We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. If you access OvenBooks from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continued use of OvenBooks after an update means you accept the revised policy.
